This is how my son sleeps. The blanket draped so gently over his face is his most favorite thing in the world. At first we were hesitant to let him sleep with it, but it seemed to help soothe him. Could it be the little tags that he loves to suck on, or the smell of the fabric as he clings to it, or the fact that he uses it to block out any and all light like a vampire.
Every night we have to go into his room to remove the blanket from his face after he's fallen asleep. Sometimes we have to wrestle it from his little fingers as he desperately tries to pull it back up over his face.
I'm seeing a flash forward of Caleb at 16 with blankets over his bedroom windows creating a cave like atmosphere. The funny thing is this is exactly how I sleep.
To all of Caleb's grandparents, aunts and uncles we know what your thinking and don't worry we won't let him suffocate.

He kind of looks like a monster. See the eyes on the blanket? The tabs are teeth or something. :-P
I see it! That does look weird.
Hey Danielle! Wow, look at that little guy, amazing! Nah, don't worry about it. Brandon was sleeping on his stomach when he was like 2 months old, and Doc said if he can get into that position, leave him.
Oh they grow so fast. Nice to be able to blog the whole thing. Give my love to Nigel! Hope to see you all this summer!

Well, the apple does not fall far from the tree. You are now in your 30s and still alive, so here is the proof that indeed you can sleep with a blanket on top of your face. There are 3 toddlers like that in my class! Cheers, N. :)
